A REPORT
Teesta-Indus Central Library, Sikkim University organized Demonstration/User Awareness Programme on J-Gate Discovery Platform and Ebsco collection in collaboration with Ebsco and J-Gate in continuation to its series of user awareness programmes which library has been organizing as its regular event. The programme was held at Cauvery Hall on 14/03/2019. The main objective of organizing the programme was to make its users more familiar with the available e- resources and to promote more usage.
The participants were the MPhil and PhD Scholars and some faculty members. Mr. Mahendranath Sarkar, Training Manager, J-Gate NE Region who discussed in brief the Integrated search facility on J-Gate discovery platform. He showed how to register and request articles to other institutes using j-gate platform.
The next presenter was by Raj Kumar Mohapatra from Ebsco who gave demonstration on Ebsco special package on Education, Tourism and Management collection being subscribed by Sikkim university. He emphasized more on the available e-journals with full-text under the package elaborating the advanced features of searching the database with precision and relevance.
The session was followed by queries from the participants to the resource persons.
